The 2.5" Thick combo one layer of Extra-firm bonded foam to one layer of the Flex-firm foam; which is slightly softer This provides a semi-soft cushioning with a firm landing and stable shock absorption for medium impact activities. The extra firm layer prevents bottoming out from impact.

It is softer/more cushioning than the medium firm mats; and will be less stable for static activities/exercises. Your feet will sink into the mat and it is not for high impact activity.  Great for home exercise activity and general fitness applications.
